Privacy Policy
This page explains what happens to your information when you use Waki-Taki. The short version: there's no account, no server storing your conversations, and the only data involved is what's necessary to connect your device to the other people in your channel.
What we don't collect
- No account or sign-up — nothing tied to your identity is created or stored.
- No recording or storage of audio — conversations exist only while your device is connected, and nothing is saved once you leave.
- No message or chat history.
What's involved in making a connection
To connect your device directly to others in your channel, a brief technical handshake is needed. During this handshake:
- The name you type is shared only with the other people in your channel, for that session — it isn't stored on a server.
- Your device's IP address is visible to the connection service that helps devices find each other, and briefly to other devices in your channel, the same way it would be in a video call. This is standard for any peer-to-peer audio or video service.
- Once your device is connected to the others in your channel, audio travels directly between devices — it does not pass through or get stored by us.
Advertising and cookies
The channel join screen may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technology on that screen to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. We don't control this data or have access to it. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ads Settings, and learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Children's privacy
Waki-Taki is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
